I am interested in vegetation history of Central Europe, especially Hercynian Mountains. I am also interested in searching of cryptic glacial refugia of trees in Central Europe, in revealing influence of human on plant species migration and distribution of vegetation types.
I use pollen analysis, non-pollen object analysis, microcharcoal analysis, depth-age modelling and sediment analysis to reconstruct past vegetation and landscape. I try to ensure multi-proxy and interdisciplinary approach to studied question by cooperation with other palaeoecologist (analysing macroremains, testate amoebae etc.) and with recent ecologist and archaeologists.
